ANEW experience in credit crunch clothes shopping has been launched by two stylish Cheltenham mums.
Friends Vanessa Ball and Tori Sword are the brains behind Magpie, which they rather wonderfully describe as a 'gently worn' clothing shop.
Set up in a spare front room of Tori's Charlton Kings' home, Magpie offers women's clothes, shoes, handbags and other accessories.
Monogram Denim Fake Handbags Magpie sells your clothing for you and takes 50 per cent of the sale price. If it's not sold, you either get it back or it's donated to charity. "We are both interested in fashion and feel we're good at seeing what suits other people, so this seemed like the ideal thing to do," said Tori, 36, mum to Scarlett, four.
Tiffany Flower RingMum of twins Vanessa, 38, continued: "These days we're so into throw-away fashion but you do get a guilt complex about it.
"This way you can still indulge your love of new clothes but once you get tired of them you can sell them on to other people. "You can also top up your own wardrobe with fabulous, good quality clothes for a fraction
embroidered patches of the price."
Magpie accepts any quality clothes in good condition, but designers include Ghost, Joseph, Whistles and Nicole Fahri, as well as Boden, White Stuff and other popular high street stores.
Magpie, at Woodlands, Ryeworth Road, Charlton Kings, is open Thursdays and Fridays from 10.30am to 2.30pm or at other times by appointment. Call 07930 699727 for details.
