A BEAUTY therapist is waving her magic mascara wand to conjure up a business makeover.
Make-up guru Julie Pelling has secured the lease for the former Card Crazy shop, on Grimsby Road, where she hopes to fulfil her dream of opening a salon next month.
Opening in February, Top Tips by Julie will showcase the nail and make-up skills which for years have been the mainstay of her mobile beauty business, but will also feature hairdressing and barbering as well.
In addition, the shop will sell a small selection of handbags, shoes and cosmetics, which customers can peruse while they are pampered.
Julie, 35, said: "Basically, it'll be every woman's dream and every husband's nightmare.
"I've had a dream of doing this for quite a while, but it's only recently I've had the push to do it.
"Having my own shop also means I have the opportunity to offer things like hot stone therapy, Reiki and massage and while customers are here enjoying themselves they can have a look at lovely things they might want to purchase."
Louis Replica Damier canvas Vuitton WatchJulie, who until recently was based at the Zoo Hairdressing salon on Grimsby Road, has been in the beauty business for the last six years.
She first took up an emery board in 2003 when a friend advised her to try a nail course after spending many years as a full-time mum.
Julie said: "I had been a mum since I was 17, I had four children and I didn't want to just be known as a mother. I wanted to feel like an individual with a purpose.
"I did the course and since then I've never looked back."
Julie, who specialises in nails and the 3D eyelashes popular with celebrities like Cheryl Cole, is still working on a mobile basis, visiting clients at their homes while she takes on the Pounds 4,000 renovation of the new salon.
She said: "I chose the premises purely because of the location. There's a lot more foot traffic than people might think on Grimsby Road, plus there's parking nearby and a bus stop just two doors down.
"I have a vision of what it's going to look like, but I don't want to give too much away at the moment.
"I want people to walk in the shop and, when they see the transformation, say: 'Oh my God... Wow!'" Clients who purchased vouchers from Zoo Hairdressing are welcome to contact Julie to discuss if they can be redeemed. Contact her on (01472) 823819.
