PUPILS at a Redruth school have been praised for their charity effort this Christmas. The children at Highfields School, an the county, as Ugg Boots Slippers Shoes part of the West Cornwall Christians Against Poverty's Shoe Box Appeal.
The boxes will be sent to families across West Cornwall who approached the charity for help with debt issues.
Mary Haddy, Highfields' headteacher, said: "I'm incredibly proud of my pupils and their parents for their support of the shoe box appeal this year.
"The people that Christians Against Poverty support have great difficulty in even having enough money Replica Coach Shoes to buy food, let alone Christmas presents."
It is the second year the school has been supporting the charity and Mrs Haddy said 2009's appeal had been even more successful than last year.
"It's wonderful that people want to get involved and these boxes will go a long way to ensure that those less fortunate will be able to have some cheer this Christmas," she said."

Cally Dowsett, centre manager for Christians Against Poverty UK, praised the work of the school and its pupils.
She said: "The support the parents and pupils from Highfields have given us is fantastic. "The shoe boxes full of gifts will be distributed to children in the community who may not be so lucky. The gifts will really brighten up a lot of people's Christmas mornings."
