PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Jim Calhoun joked a couple of days earlier that his UConn men's basketball team's win at then-No. 3 Villanova on Monday was, without question, the Huskies' biggest road win of the season. Replica Balenciaga
It was also their only road win. Until Saturday, that is, when the Huskies pulled off a 76-58 romp over Rutgers at The Rutgers Athletic Center that was ... well, their second-biggest road win.
All joking aside, UConn's rather thorough dismantling of the Scarlet Knights before a sellout of 8,085 was particularly significant. The Huskies had appeared to turn a corner several different times this season -- most notably after a Jan. 23 home win over then-No. 1 Texas -- only to throw it all away with a bad loss their next time out.
But by backing up the big win over Villanova with a second straight road victory, over a team that had won four of its last five Big East games, UConn (16-11, 6-8 Big East) may not only have finally turned that corner, but also set its GPS on the road to the NCAA tournament.
"It's definitely big," senior forward Gavin Edwards said. "It gives us a lot of momentum. The last time we had a big game like this, we kind of came back and gave one away. I think to come off a big win and to still

Continued from D1 play hard again, especially on the road, that's huge for us."
Indeed, Calhoun termed the Huskies' modest two-game road winning streak "the most significant thing we've done this year." But things get more difficult than Rutgers with No. 8 West Virginia coming to Hartford Monday night.
Replica Longines Watches "We're a bubble team, and you wouldn't have said that a week ago," Calhoun said. "You would've said, what bubble? If we're fortunate enough to get a couple of wins, then you have to start thinking something else. Right now, I'm just thinking about the XL Center and West Virginia."
UConn held a 31-28 edge over Rutgers (14-13, 4-10) after a somewhat unsightly first half that featured a combined 15 turnovers and 36 missed shots. More significantly, the Huskies were losing the rebounding battle, a point Calhoun drove home at the break.
"He mentioned it," Edwards said, with a smile.
The point was apparently taken, as UConn outrebounded the Scarlet Knights 25-12 in the latter half.
"We came out with the mindset that we had to control the boards," Edwards said. "As long as we did that, we'd be able to pretty much get away with whatever we wanted to, to do the things we needed to do."
Added Calhoun: "We got hustle points, loose balls. I couldn't be happier about that. And we shared the basketball. I know it's a funny old adage, but sometimes this particular group gets into a mindset that they can beat Rutgers or whomever they're playing, and then it becomes very difficult."
The Huskies opened the latter half on a 15-3 run as Rutgers missed seven of its first eight shots. A terrific three-point play by Jerome Dyson -- acrobatic offensive rebound, fancy putback, foul, free throw -- tag heuer replica put UConn ahead 51-34 with 12 minutes, 59 seconds left, and the Huskies upped their lead to as many as 20 points at 58- 38.
Rutgers managed to chip into the lead a bit, getting within
