Combined gold?

"For me, I'm doing the best I can for every single day. That's how I am. I'm here to do a job. I'm here to represent the U.S. the best that I can."

In the women's 500, Wang cruised home well ahead of Canada's Marianne St-Gelais, who took silver. Arianna Fontana of Italy earned the bronze.

The final was restarted after Canadian Jessica Gregg went down and her teammate St-Gelais followed in the first turn. After some ice repair, the women returned to the starting line.

Benn gets a black reception on

WEST COUNTRY farmers donned black arm bands at the NFU's national conference last week to protest at the Government's lack of action in dealing with bovine TB. The demonstration, at the annual conference at the NEC in links of london Birmingham, was to bring home to keynote speaker, Defra Secretary Hilary Benn, and leading politicians from the other major parties also present, that, despite ramping up restrictions on cattle farmers, the stranglehold of bovine TB had worsened in the region with thousands of cattle having to be slaughtered and hundreds of businesses being blighted every year because of it.

Benitez still confident of mak

RAFAEL BENITEZ still believes Liverpool can claim the final Champions League berth despite admitting his side were now locked in a four-way battle for fourth place.

Despite a surprise return to action for Fernando Torres, Benitez's men laboured to a dismal goalless draw at near rivals Manchester City yesterday.

With Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa both winning, only a single point separates the four challengers with Liverpool having dropped down to sixth.

And Benitez admits the dire Eastlands stalemate represented a missed opportunity for both his team and City.

"It's not a good result for either team," said the Spaniard. "We both wanted to win. "You have to think about Tottenham and Villa, it's a race of four teams now.

"It's important to ensure we get three points in every game.

"We can't just look at City, Tottenham are there and Villa are there. But I have to believe.

"If the manager doesn't have confidence it is difficult for the players."

The most encouraging aspect of the afternoon for Liverpool was the cameo appearance of Torres from the bench for the final 15 minutes.

Torres has been absent since the FA Cup replay defeat to Reading almost six weeks ago after undergoing knee surgery.

Yossi Benayoun also made his return from the bench yesterday after being sidelined for a similar period with a rib problem.

And with Glen Johnson expected to be back in full training this week, Benitez said: "I have to think about the positives.

"We were strong and doing well replica tag heruer watches and we had two players coming back.

"I think we have enough quality, Yossi (Benayoun) is coming back, (Fernando) Torres is coming back, hopefully (Glen) Johnson will come back in the next week. So we are now bringing players back and the competition will be better for us and hopefully we can improve."

Yesterday's instantly forgettable encounter saw both teams have only one shot on target each.

The nearest Liverpool came was when Martin Skrtel headed Steven Gerrard's corner wide from close range towards the end of the first half, although Benitez believes Benayoun could have had a penalty when the Israeli instead chose to play on when caught by Pablo Zabaleta in the area.

"I am frustrated we couldn't get the winner," said the Anfield manager.

"It was a difficult game.

Neither team had clear chances.

We had more possession and were lacking the final pass in the final third could make the difference.

"Today both teams were defending well and were well-organised. We tried to create and had some chances where the final pass could have made the difference. "I think at the end we were more in control, passing the ball with (Alberto) Aquilani, I Clip on charms think we had plenty of possession. "They could be a threat on the counter-attack but we had more control and also the situation with Yossi maybe with the penalty, so I think we were close at the end to winning the game. Yossi thought it was a penalty but was trying to play on. Sometimes it is good in terms of fair play and sometimes it is bad for the result. He was trying to play on, you can't blame the player, h

Where Opinion Matters

By:Mansi gupta

Gone are days when only psychiatrists and councilors earned handsome money for telling their opinion Replica Watch. Today even a common man can express his or her opinion and get paid for it through the channel of online surveys

Almost all the big and small companies that exist in the market conduct online surveys These surveys are basically a dig into the minds of people They reveal that how well a company's product is doing in the market With the aid of these surveys a company makes an assessment about their current status (demand in the market) and also the future of their product

On the one hand the online surveys serve the companies with a complete market analysis and research With the help of this the company decides as to how much should be spent on advertising of the product and the areas in which improvement needs to be done On the other hand these surveys are extremely beneficial to people participating in them The individuals who express their opinion in these surveys earn by sitting at home All they are required to do is to provide the company with their opinion about its product This can be done either by filling up a simple survey form that you receive in your email or at the website or by joining a special online chat session on that topic Earning commences as soon as a person actively participates in the survey and starts supplying the company with his outlook

There are no fixed days and timings between which an individual is required to work This job can be taken up part time as well as full time Moreover people from any background -a housewife and mother of two kids, a mere graduate, an individual working in an MNC or a retired person can partake in these surveys The fact that these surveys can be taken up from anywhere (for instance from office, home, in a garden with a laptop) makes them all the more desirable

Another commendable aspect of these surveys is that there is no one to boss over you The online surveys are like a dream come true for all those who had always wanted to acquire loads of dollars but not at the cost of their self -respect and tranquility

The online surveys are on various topics It is at the discretion of the person to decide which category intrigues him Replica Watches. For example A might be a good academician and so go with a survey pertaining to academic research while B may prefer marketing survey over others

Since the surveys are immensely cost effective for the companies in various ways, they come up with many lucrative offers For instance a short survey on mobile phones can fetch a person from 5 USD to 75 USD The online survey sites have a database of several companies that are guaranteed to pay you for your work These companies pay via paypal, western union or other suitable modes of payment

Safety first

The bold and the irresponsible, is the expression that best defines India's youth today, if one goes by The Youth in India: Situation and Need Report carried out by Mumbai-based International paper bag printing Institute of Population Sciences. It states that even though young India is increasingly shedding its inhibitions on sex - in fact premarital sex is now a common occurrence - the reluctance to use contraceptives could lead to disastrous consequences, including HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

This trend of recklessness in bed also signifies that all the campaigns on safe sex and HIV have hardly yielded positive results. The young and the restless do not seem to be aware and inspired by the benefits of risk-free sex. The survey involved 50,848 married and unmarried young men and women from six states - Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu - to represent a wide range of geographical locations and socio-cultural milieus. The revelations are startling: 25 per cent of the men had sex with two or more partners while 21 per cent young women reported multiple partners and they hadn't bothered to use a condom all this while. The even more dangerous indicator is that only 43 per cent of young men and 59 postcard printing per cent of the young women who had indulged in sex before marriage knew that a woman could get pregnant because of unprotected first sex - a pathetic level of awareness in a country that aspires to be a global giant.

Post 1990s, Indians have experienced sexual awakening, thanks to liberalisation. It also led people to talk more openly about contraceptives and AIDS - issues that were considered taboo. But if the ground reality after three decades presents such a bleak picture, it doesn't augur well for India which is banking on its youth to take the country forward. It hardly meant much when the report stated that the first sexual encounter created fear of unwanted pregnancy in 62 per cent of the unmarried women respondents as compared to 55 per cent of men.

Where mass drives for safe links of london sex have fallen flat, a more personalised approach may work. This would entail a door-to-door campaign involving peer groups. In every locality a group of young men and women should be trained to disseminate information and awareness among their age-groups. In schools, sex education should be taken up more earnestly since it concerns the life and the future of the country's youth. This is the time to act and any delay could lead to fatal consequences.

Sailing siblings on the right

SUNSHINE Coast siblings Mitchell and Madison Kennedy rocked the boat in the 2010 Australian Youth Championship sailing competition in South Australia.

Mitchell placed fourth in the youth division and fifth in the open men's, and Madison took the title in the 4.7 women's laser class.

Madison's accomplishment has resulted in her selection for the first Youth Olympic Games.

Madison, 15, began sailing in lasers (one-person boats) so she could compete at the same venues as her seafaring brother and father.

"When I started out, I didn't really like lasers - I wanted to be with two people because it's a bit more fun," she said.

The Matthew Flinders Anglican College student did not have high hopes going into the youth championships, which drew competitors from across the Oceania region.

"I had people from the Cook Islands and New Zealand competing too and I've only been sailing (lasers) for half a year," Madison said.

"I went down to Adelaide not expecting much for myself.

"I thought, 'I've been sailing for so long, experience should do something for me', so I just went out there and did it.

"Everyone thinks it's pretty cool that I'm going overseas and doing a sport that I love. It's good."

Mitchell, 17, who was fifth in the open men's division of the championships, also has high aspirations in the sailing world.

He is training for the national championships in a bid to qualify for a place in the upcoming Youth Sailing World Championships.

"It will probably always be something I'll do - it depends how far it actually takes me or how serious I get into it," he said.

"At the moment, because I've got the chance to go to Youth Worlds and represent Australia, it's basically full-on."

Madison and Mitchell are both in the Queensland Elite Squad, a high-performance group within Yachting Queensland, and are regular fixtures at the Maroochydore Sailing Club.

The Youth Olympic Games will be held in Singapore from August 14- 26, and the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship from July 8-17 in Istanbul.
